I've used guardfather.com for many purposes over the years. Now its function is to recommend free software and services to Windows and Ubuntu users.
The site is geared toward people who either aren't very experienced with PCs, or those who deal with the inexperienced and their questions. My goal is for the site to be a reference that computer geeks can point people to, rather than wasting so much of their time repeatedly explaining software choices to people. I don't know how many hours I've spent explaining these things to people over the years. This should be a significant time-saver for me, and hopefully some other "friendly neighborhood geeks". For example, now I'm able to just say "go to the Windows Security page on guardfather.com" when someone asks me which antivirus program to use.
The design is not very artistic right now. But the content is helpful. Please feel free to use it as a reference for yourself or others.
